Director of Purchasing

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Purchasing to join the team and lead all procurement initiatives.The Purchasing Director will be responsible for overseeing the procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and creating and implementing cost-effective purchasing practices. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a commitment to optimizing our supply chain operations.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.- Providing leadership, training, and support to drive performance and efficiency.- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best pricing and quality.- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., finance, production, sales) to forecast demand and align purchasing strategies accordingly.- Monitor inventory levels and oversee the replenishment process to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures, including sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, savings, and supplier performance to senior management.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.- Proven experience (5+ years) in purchasing or procurement, leadership role ideal.- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Excellent in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
