Regional Sales Manager

Job PurposeThe Sales Manager role will oversee and grow sales of packaged fertilizers through both distribution channels and direct key accounts across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Ideally, this role will be focused within the Charlotte area, GA, and TN markets and requires a strategic, relationship-centered leader who can both drive growth and execute effective territory-based sales strategies. This position will operate under our Tri-Solutions, Inc. group affiliated with Meherrin.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and execution of sales strategies for packaged fertilizer distribution and key accounts within the Turf & Ornamental and Lawn & Garden markets.Build and maintain positive relationships with distribution partners and professional customers, while helping identify new opportunities and sharing information on new or innovative products.Track territory activity, sales progress, and basic performance metrics, and assist with reporting insights to leadership.Assist with territory growth efforts in alignment with overall company goals.Communicate regularly with leadership to share market observations, customer feedback, and emerging product trends.Collaborate effectively with internal teams in a remote, home-based work environment, with periodic travel to support customer relationships.Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, Agriculture, Horticulture, Marketing, or related field (preferred).5-10 years of experience in Turf & Ornamental and/or Lawn & Garden sales, with demonstrated success in developing distributor and key account relationships.Experience in bagged fertilizer sales highly preferred.Proven leadership in managing key accounts, regional territories, or distributor networks.Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.Analytical proficiency to interpret sales data, forecast trends, and adjust strategies to improve performance.Comfortable with frequent travel across Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.Basic computer literacy—Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, ERP systems, reporting software, and MS Office suite.Preferred AttributesPrevious experience in fertilizer or agricultural chemical sales within the turf business.Ability to coach and develop high-performing sales reps or distributor partners.Familiarity with CRM systems and remote teamwork.Strong understanding of market dynamics and emerging trends in Turf & Ornamental and Lawn & Garden sectors.Work EnvironmentHybrid role: Mix of office work (strategy, data, team management) and field work (client visits, trade shows, site inspections).Customer & sales focus: Building relationships, negotiating deals, and driving seasonal sales with landscapers, contractors, and institutions.Dynamic environment: Seasonal peaks, frequent travel, outdoor site visits, and collaboration with production/logistics teams.BenefitsHealth Insurance ~ Employee Assistance (EAP) ~ Teladoc ~ Life InsuranceEmployee Referral Program ~ 401K Match ~ Disability ~ Tuition Assistance (TAP)Paid Vacation and Personal Days ~ Vision ~ Paid Holidays ~ Jury Duty LeaveDental ~ Bereavement Leave ~ Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Core Values “Equip” - Environment Quality Understanding Integrity PeopleApplication Process - This job is contingent upon satisfactory completion of reference checks, education verification, pre-employment drug screening, and a criminal history check.EOE - Equal Opportunity EmployerFor Additional Information Visit: www.meherrinag.com
