General Manager (Sioux City)

We are currently hiring for a Full time General Manager position in Sioux City, Iowa.The position offers an annual bonus of 30%, based on experience and skills. Full relocation assistance is provided, and for all non-local candidates, interview travel expenses—including airfare and hotel accommodations—will be covered.Position Overview: We are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead all operations within their large, modern, high‐volume pork processing facility in Sioux City, Iowa. This executive‐level leader is responsible for the plant's overall performance, including safety, production, quality, engineering, maintenance, continuous improvement, labor management, and profitability.The General Manager will oversee all shift operations, ensure USDA compliance, drive operational excellence, and lead cross‐functional teams to meet production goals, customer specifications, and financial targets. This role requires deep expertise in pork processing and the ability to lead a complex, fast‐paced, USDA‐regulated environment.This is a mission‐critical leadership role with full ownership of plant performance, culture, and strategic direction.Key Responsibilities:Plant Leadership & Strategy• Lead all plant operations in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements• Drive a culture of safety, quality, engagement, and continuous improvement• Ensure production goals, quality standards, and customer specifications are consistently met• Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, and throughput optimizationOperational Excellence• Manage labor, yields, raw materials, supplies, and waste reduction• Reduce product failures and foreign material incidents• Lead CI and FP&A teams to enhance margins and reduce operational costs• Implement best practices across production, maintenance, and engineeringPeople Leadership• Interview, hire, train, and develop plant leadership and hourly teams• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions• Build a strong culture of accountability, engagement, and teamworkCompliance & Food Safety• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, GMPs, and food safety standards• Partner with FSQA to maintain the highest levels of product safety and quality• Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and audit readinessQualification:Pork processing experience required10+ years of plant leadership experience.Proven success leading large, multi‐shift USDA‐regulated operationsStrong background in production, safety, quality, maintenance, engineering, and CIExperience managing budgets, yields, labor, raw materials, and operational KPIsStrong leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levelsBachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, or related fieldExcellent communication, decision‐making, and problem‐solving skills
