This role offers hands-on exposure to how a corporate information security program operates while providing practical experience in security operations, risk management, and reporting.The typical base pay range for this position is USD $43.50 - $52.25 per hour. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only.Responsibilities & CompetenciesJob DutiesAssist with tracking security initiatives, projects, and action itemsHelp prepare meeting materials, status reports, and documentationMaintain project trackers, timelines, and follow-up itemsAssist with basic security operations tasks under supervisionHelp log and document security events, incidents, and investigationsSupport routine operational activities such as access reviews and control checksHelp maintain security policies, standards, and proceduresAssist with risk tracking, issue remediation follow-up, and documentationSupport audit and compliance activities by organizing evidence and recordsAssist with third-party risk documentation and trackingCollect and maintain security metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)Assist with preparing dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reportsHelp ensure accuracy and consistency of security data used for reportingAssist with security awareness activities and training supportPerform documentation cleanup and knowledge base updatesSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the InfoSec programCompetenciesCoursework or exposure to cybersecurity, risk management, or IT governanceFamiliarity with basic security concepts and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)Experience with spreadsheets, reporting tools, or data analysisWell organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurateSelf-motivated and aptitude to learn quicklyPositive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong sense of professionalismQualifications (Requirements)Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalentStrong interest in information security and enterprise technologyOrganized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with documentation and dataStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to handle sensitive information responsiblyAble to work independently at times and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/weekMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictionMust be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your employment and criminal historyMust be 18 years of age or olderBelief in DiversitySynaptics is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to workforce diversity.
