This role requires expertise in operating a variety of equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods, and maintaining the lowboy truck and trailer.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nOperate lowboy trucks and trailers to transport heavy equipment and materials to job sites.\nEnsure that loads are secured properly and comply with safety regulations and company standards.\nPlan and follow the IDOT permit required routes, considering load size, weight, and road conditions.\nLoad and unload equipment and materials using appropriate techniques and equipment, including winches and ramps.\nAdhere to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and safety standards.\nConduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the lowboy truck and trailer.\nMaintain accurate logs of transportation activities, including vehicle inspection reports and delivery records.\nCommunicate effectively and take explicit directions from Dispatch, clients and job site personnel to coordinate deliveries and pickups.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Education & Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nValid Class A CDL Driver’s License required.\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience hauling heavy equipment with lowboy detachable trailers and flatbed trailers.\nKnowledge Skills & Abilities:\nKnowledge of safe operating techniques of equipment being operated-loaded/unloaded\nAn emphasis on safety in both driving and loading/unloading is required.\nAbility to climb into equipment being loaded and unloaded.\nInstrumentation and warning devices of the equipment operating.\nWorking Conditions\n☒ Must have a valid driver’s license\n☒ Able to work extended hours when necessary.\n☒ Read and understand applicable policies while having the ability to see and hear properly for safety precautions.\n☒ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required use basic hand tools, power tools, to sit or stand for extended periods of time.\n☒ Required to walk, climbing and/or balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.\n☒ The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\n☒ Exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and heavy equipment vehicles.\n☒ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.\n☒ Working safely in close proximity of heavy equipment and on and off-road trucks.\n☒ Regularly required to talk or hear, working within standard office environment.\nWhy Plote\nAt Plote we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
