This role focuses on architecting robust cloud-native data infrastructure, optimizing performance and cost, and ensuring high availability and security of data systems. The engineer will be part of the cloud data team within engineering operations and will work closely with data, engineering, and product teams while providing technical expertise and mentorship.\nESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure on AWS using technologies such as Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, S3, and Snowflake.\nImplement and operate core data systems across ingestion, transformation, storage, and orchestration layers.\nEnsure high levels of reliability, performance, availability, and cost efficiency of data platforms and environments.\nApply and promote best practices in data modeling, observability, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD automation.\nSupport and scale distributed data systems (e.g., PostgreSQL/Aurora, Snowflake, Kafka, caching) across environments.\nPartner with application, analytics, and AI teams to enable efficient and self-service data access and usage.\nParticipate in design reviews, contribute to technical standards, and mentor junior engineers.\nTroubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvements in data platform operations.\nSupport operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations and off-hours incident response when required.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nRequired (quantifiable from resume/application):\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience in Cloud based Data Infrastructure, Database Engineering, or related roles.\nMinimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience with AWS Data Services (Aurora, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, Athena etc.).\nStrong experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora and Snowflake or similar modern data platforms.\nProficiency in SQL and scripting or programming languages (Python, Shell, etc.).\nHands-on experience using Terraform and GitLab to build and operate CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure automation.\nDemonstrated experience optimizing database performance and operating high-throughput data systems.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience with real-time or streaming data platforms (Kafka, Databricks).\nExposure to data governance, lineage, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2).\nFamiliarity with analytics workflow using orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt).\nExperience supporting database migrations from Oracle RDS to modern data stores (Aurora PostgreSQL, Snowflake).\nExposure to OpenSearch, Cassandra, or other distributed data systems.\nFamiliarity with GCP or Azure in addition to AWS.\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.\nPrior experience in healthcare or regulated industries is a plus.\n\n***The US base salary range for this full-time position is:\n$125,241.00 - $187,862.00\nThe specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
