This team is responsible for the development of an integrated platform designed for engineers and system operators of electric systems to aggregate and analyze data. They maintain cutting-edge algorithms and real-time data pipelines used by electrical engineers to assess their electrical grid's status and plan future load needs to support renewable energy technology like solar and electric vehicles. The Team Lead helps ensure comprehensive contract and integration test coverage for their applications and will provide technical and team leadership through mentoring, coaching and hands-on development. Learn more about OA here.\r\nEssential Functions\r\nTakes ownership for development efforts and productivity of the engineering team.\r\nAnalyze and resolve technical issues.\r\nResponsible for coaching of direct reports.\r\nEnsure quality standards and apply best practices for an effective SDLC.\r\nSupply progress reports to management.\r\nEffective collaboration with other departments and divisions.\r\nCommit and test production code.\r\nLeverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.\r\nIdentify and act upon areas for growth and improvement within the team.\r\nResponsible for application and process improvement.\r\nAssess individual and team performance.\r\nSet individual and team goals and objectives.\r\nSelection and hiring of new employees.\r\nAssists Department Manager with establishing action plans for key strategic projects and technical direction.\r\nOther duties as assigned.\r\nDesired Experience and Skills\r\n3+ years of relevant experience in area of discipline; preferably in software development, software requirements, or other applicable technical areas.\r\n3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role.\r\nExperience with Big-Data and Databricks.\r\nExperience with other cloud technologies/architectures.\r\nExperience with cloud application and ecosystem monitoring, administration, and testing tools.\r\nExperience with JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo, Rundeck.\r\nExperience with SQL and No-SQL databases such as Postgres, Elasticsearch (Opensearch), Cassandra (Keyspaces).\r\nExperience with any of the following: JAVA, Angular, Spring-boot, Go, Python, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS.\r\nElectrical engineering domain knowledge preferred.\r\nStrong delegation, prioritization, coaching, and feedback delivery skills.\r\nExcellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.\r\nAbility to manage the day-to-day operations of a team engaged in a high volume of work.\r\nStrong communication skills, self-motivated and accountable.\r\nCommitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values.\r\nWork Schedule\r\nHybrid from one of our office locations\r\nCedar Rapids, IA\r\nLake Saint Louis, MO\r\nMandan, ND\r\nHybrid Schedule\r\nMinimum of working 3 days per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location.\r\nRequired days from an office location: Tuesday and Wednesday – the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose.\r\nVirtual Office Location\r\nCandidates working from a remote location within approved states will be considered for those who have applicable industry experience.\r\nShared Values & Competencies\r\nWe're a cooperative, which means we're owned by the Members we serve.
