Our business is growing and we are hiring qualified skilled technicians to join the Summit Graphics team.\nAs a Flexographic Press Operator, the candidate will run the flexographic printing press—the machine that produces labels, packaging, and other printed materials on rolls of paper, film, or other substrate. Candidate will be responsible for setting up the press, running the press, controlling color and registration, solving mechanical/print problems in real time, and ensuring the final product meets exact customer specifications on time.‍\nResponsibilities:\nComplete press setup and changeovers for multi‑color flexographic presses, including mounting plates, cylinders, dies, and anilox rolls.\nMix, manage, and match inks (water‑based or solvent‑based), adjusting viscosity, pH, and color to meet PMS or customer standards.\nLoad and manage substrates (paper, film, plastic), ensuring proper tension, alignment, and feed.\nOperate the press at production speed while monitoring for defects like halos, dot gain, smudging, or registration shifts.\nPerform continuous quality checks using tools such as spectrophotometers, densitometers, and magnifiers to verify color accuracy and clarity. Must perform visual inspections to ensure product meets/exceeds customer specifications\nTroubleshoot mechanical and print issues—ink flow, web handling, tension, die‑cut alignment, drying, and more—to minimize downtime and waste.\nMaintain the press through cleaning, lubrication, and routine preventative maintenance.\nDocument production including materials used, time, settings, and quality notes.\nEnsure safety compliance with chemical handling, machine guarding, and lockout/tagout procedures.\nFollow the production schedule and meet customer deadlines\nTrain others on aspects of equipment, process, and safety\nMaintain accurate inventory counts\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nExperience:\nMinimum 2 years of experience on Flexographic Press, Comco Commander and Mark Andy experience preferred\nMinimum 1 year of experience on Power Industrial equipment such as fork truck, clamp truck, and power jack experience\nRequirements:\nBasic electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills\nAbility to read standard and metric tape measures\nExperience operating production equipment\nAbility to work as part of team\nAttention to detail\nExcellent communication skills including reading, following written and verbal instructions\nGood attendance is expected. Candidate must work schedule and overtime when necessary\nMaintains a clean environment\nGood hygiene habits\nMust follow safety procedures including wearing PPE.\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nPhysical Expectations:\nAbility to stand for up to 8 hours.\nFrequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.\nOccasionally lift/ carry more than 50 lbs.\nHave moderate manual dexterity.\n‍Work Environment:\nAll work is performed in an indoor, climate and temperature controlled, packaging facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery.\nThe above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
