Personal Care Attendant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, particularly in settings such as assisted living, group homes, or nursing facilities. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive care and support. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient care and monitor vital signs to ensure the health and safety of clients. Support individuals with disabilities, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and autism. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring proper hygiene practices. Follow care plans and assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary. Document observations regarding client behavior and health status while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Requirements Previous experience in home health care, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. Strong skills in patient observation and monitoring to detect changes in condition. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient transfers. Familiarity with caregiving techniques for individuals with various needs including memory care and hospice care. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach towards caregiving. Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. A background in social work or nursing is a plus but not mandatory.
