Candidates must live within the United States, and due to our pay practices, we are not able to employ candidates living in some states.\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe Coding Associate 2 is primarily responsible for the coding and abstracting of ancillary/outpatient records, including ambulatory surgery and emergency room records pertaining to the patient's occasion of service. Standardized coding and classification systems, minimum data sets, data definitions, and terminology will be utilized to ensure data is uniformly defined, collected, and verified. Also provides assistance to authorized users to furnish aggregate data and information needed for education, statistical, managerial, reimbursement, and performance improvement activities.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have experience in E/M coding and experience in taking documentation and assigning the initial and appropriate codes (not only validating codes).\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation\n\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\n\nRequired Experience\n\nMinimum 1 year of ancillary/outpatient coding – providing the ability to code ambulatory surgery, observation, or ED, including CPT coding required\n\nRequired Certifications\n\nOne of the following:\n\nCCA or CCA-A: Certified Coding Associate\nCPC or CPC-A: Certified Professional Coder\nCIC: Certified Inpatient Coder\nRHIT: Registered Health Information Technician\nRHIA: Registered Health Information Associate\nIn lieu of CCA or CPC, may qualify with higher-level coding education or the preferred certifications listed below (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA).
