DescriptionThis job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or requirements.Overview:The Tacker is responsible for tacking fabricated pipe in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality and safety standards.Responsibilities:Perform tack welding on fabricated pipe in accordance with approved procedures and project specificationsVerify project number and base material prior to beginning workIdentify, obtain, and sign out the correct filler materials based on job requirementsEnsure all tacks meet or exceed minimum quality and qualification standardsAssist with moving pipe spools to and from work areas following shop safety guidelinesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentWork collaboratively with all shop personnel and supervision to meet production schedules and quality expectationsComply with all Company Core Safety Rules, policies and procedures.Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication or welding environmentWorking knowledge of welding processes, materials, and equipment related to pipe fabricationAbility to read and follow job instructions and welding proceduresAbility to work extended hours, including 10-hour shifts and overtime as requiredPhysically capable of standing for extended periods, as well as bending, kneeling, and squatting throughout the workdayAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workEffective communication skills and ability to work well within a team environmentDemonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic
