The Assistant Facility Engineer will operate the Maintenance Department with the company goals of safe, quality food top of the mind while achieving the financial goals of Klosterman Baking Company. The Assistant Facility Engineer will maintain the building, grounds and all associated equipment to comply with all laws, policies and standards governing food safety.\n\nResponsibilities:\nHelp manage the engineering needs of the bakery and the hourly engineering staff. Supervision of maintenance and installation of all plant equipment and facilities.\n\nPrincipal roles and responsibilities\n\nAssure equipment reliability to maximize production lines productivity\n\nSupervise, coach, train, lead and motivate mechanics to meet planned objectives and respond effectively to emergencies\n\nBuild staff capability by effectively monitoring and providing performance feedback to direct reports\n\nCommunicate status of shift to following shift and others who require the information\n\nIdentify equipment and facility deficiencies and ensure the initiation of corrective action\n\nAssess mechanics technical and troubleshooting skills\n\nProvide training and counseling as needed to assist mechanics in meeting performance standards\n\nPartner with plant peers to ensure the plants equipment meet regulatory requirements for cleanliness and product safety\n\nMaintain P&L responsibility over maintenance cost centers, repair and maintenance, maintenance labor, utilities and capital improvement plans\n\nOversee preventative maintenance compliance and effectiveness\n\nDevelop, monitor, and ensure timely completion of short- and long-term goals and action plans\n\nAssist in making operational improvements to reduce costs and to increase productivity\n\nDevelop and maintain part inventory\n\nInterfaces with vendors, manufacturers and field service personnel\n\nUtilize new technology and lean manufacturing principals and processes to maximize efficiency\n\nProvide day-to-day operational leadership to mechanics and all associated personnel\n\nDevelop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork, quality, and safety\n\nDevelop, evaluate, train, and mentor employees\n\nEnsure the adherence of safety policies, practices, and procedures\n\nEnsure production of quality product in compliance of federal and state guidelines.
