This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can step into an active environment quickly, drive backend development, and manage delivery across internal and subcontracted engineering teams.\r\nThe ideal candidate has deep experience building and leading event-driven, serverless backend systems on AWS , strong communication skills, and familiarity with clients internal development processes.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nTechnical Leadership\r\nLead development efforts for large-scale, event-driven distributed systems using serverless AWS architectures\r\nDesign, implement, and oversee backend solutions using Java and/or Golang\r\nRapidly assess existing architectures, identify integration points, and drive new feature development\r\nDebug and trace complex event-driven workflows across serverless services\r\nTranslate high-level technical direction or problem statements into clear implementation plans\r\nDelivery & Execution\r\nDrive work forward in situations with ambiguity; quickly disambiguate requirements\r\nClearly communicate progress, risks, and blockers to stakeholders\r\nEnsure timely, high-quality delivery while maintaining system stability and scalability\r\nPeople & Process Management\r\nInterview candidates for staffing needs\r\nOwn and execute the knowledge-transfer process for newly onboarded developers\r\nManage performance of client developers and subcontractors\r\nProvide scope of work and key deliverable details to the program manager\r\nProduce and maintain\r\nWeekly status reports\r\nMonthly status reports\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nProven experience as a Dev Lead or Development Manager in backend engineering\r\nStrong hands-on background in event-driven, serverless cloud architectures\r\nDeep understanding of the complexities of serverless systems and how to debug them\r\nAbility to decompose outcomes into actionable technical tasks\r\nExperience working in large, complex architectures with multiple integrations\r\nClear, proactive communicator willing to raise questions or concerns to unblock delivery\r\nAvailability to work US-Eastern time\r\nPrior experience working within Amazon's internal development environments or processes\r\nPreferred Technical Skills\r\nDemonstrated experience with AWS services including\r\nLambda, DynamoDB, ECS, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS\r\nKMS, Secrets Manager, S3\r\nExperience using AWS CDK (TypeScript preferred)\r\nStrong proficiency in Java (Spring) or Golang (Gorilla Mux or similar)\r\nTest-driven development (TDD)\r\nExperience writing unit and integration tests\r\nNice to Have\r\nPython, PowerShell\r\nRclone (https://rclone.org/)\r\nMicrosoft OAuth\r\nSalesforce Quip\r\nManpowerGroup is committed to providing equal employment opportunities in a professional, high quality work environment.
