At ST Engineering MRAS, we are also rapidly augmenting our maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities leveraging the company’s expanded aircraft nacelle portfolio as well as it’s materials and processing expertise.\n\nWhat YOU will do\n\nLeadership & Team Management\n\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of Materials & Process Engineers supporting both production programs and R&D / demonstrator development.\nRecruit, onboard, train, and coach new engineers, fostering technical growth and cross‑functional collaboration.\nPrioritize workload across production support, qualification/approval tasks, R&D projects, and demonstrator milestones.\nDevelop clear objectives and maintain accountability for team performance, ensuring on-time delivery of engineering outputs and issue resolution.\n\nProduction Support & Sustaining Engineering\n\nOversee material and process engineering support for active production, including composite materials, adhesives, coatings, and metallic processes.\nEnsure compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.\nProvide direction on material approvals, deviations, MRB dispositions, and corrective actions.\nDrive process improvements to increase robustness, reduce variability, and support cost-out initiatives.\n\nR&D, Technology Development & Demonstrators\n\nGuide new material development projects, including testing, prototyping, and early application of advanced composite systems.\nOversee specification development and rollout for new materials or processes, coordinating across engineering, quality, production, and suppliers.\nDirect development of composite prototype parts to support demonstrator builds and advanced material use cases.\nSupport strategy creation for application of advanced materials and manufacturing technologies.\n\nCross-functional Integration\n\nCollaborate closely with Quality, Production, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and external research partners.\nProvide technical direction and project status updates to leadership and stakeholders.\nEnsure alignment between R&D efforts and production needs, including qualification pathways and manufacturing readiness.\n\nTechnical Ownership & Risk Management\n\nMaintain awareness of emerging materials, process technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.\nAssess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with new materials, process changes, and production disruptions.\nOversee testing plans for new composite materials, process capability, and supplier qualification.\nEnsure robust documentation, traceability, and configuration control of material and process specifications.\n\nWhat YOU must bring to Succeed\n\nBachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.\n6+ years of experience in materials engineering, composite engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field.\nExperience with composite material systems, testing (physical, chemical, mechanical), and manufacturing processes.\nPrior leadership experience strongly preferred, including mentoring or managing engineering staff.\nStrong analytical skill set and familiarity with specification development and material qualification.\nAbility to integrate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions.\nStrong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to present technical content to stakeholders.\nHighly organized with strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.\nThis position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization.
