The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem- solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.Job ResponsibilitiesInstall HVAC control systems, including control panels, sensors, thermostats, actuators, and associated low-voltage wiringRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, submittals, and control schematicsMount and terminate control devices and field equipment in accordance with project drawings and company standardsAssist with startup and checkout of building automation systemsTroubleshoot installation issues and communicate findings to project teamsEnsure all installations comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and customer requirementsCoordinate with electricians, mechanical contractors, and other trades on job sitesMaintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used, and project progressSupport commissioning activities and system testing as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on all job sitesAccountabilitiesContinual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industryElite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC & Refrigeration needsORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENTThis position reports to the controls director, and has a responsibility to the entire controls team and all of our customers.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS 4+ years of experience in HVAC controls, electrical installation, BAS/BMS systems, or commercial HVAC preferredBasic understanding of HVAC systems and low-voltage electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and wiring diagramsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and organizational skillsValid driver’s license with acceptable driving recordExperience with building automation systems such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, Siemens, or DistechOSHA certification or safety trainingExperience working on commercial construction or retrofit projectsBEHAVIORAL PROFILEStrategic SkillsAbility to learn new skills and knowledge.
