You will apply sound judgment to verify AI-generated output for security, performance, reliability, and accuracy.\n\nWhat you'll do\n\nPlatform Architecture & Design\nLead the design, implementation, and scaling of an enterprise self-service CI/CD platform and cloud-native application runtimes.\nTreat delivery infrastructure as a product with clear users, reliability goals, adoption measures, and feedback loops.\nBuild reusable platform capabilities that abstract infrastructure complexity for product developers.\nLead code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical planning for platform initiatives.\nAWS EKS & Multi-Cluster Operations\nBuild and manage production-grade, highly available AWS EKS clusters across multiple regions and a resilient multi-cluster topology.\nOptimize compute resource scheduling and autoscaling using Karpenter and related Kubernetes capabilities.\nDefine cluster lifecycle, networking, workload placement, capacity, and operational-readiness practices.\nDiagnose and resolve complex problems involving Kubernetes workloads, networking, deployments, and distributed systems.\nService Mesh & Network Operations\nDeploy and configure Istio service mesh across environments to support advanced traffic management.\nImplement canary routing, circuit breaking, mTLS, and secure ingress and egress gateway patterns.\nImprove service-to-service reliability, observability, and operational safety without creating unnecessary platform complexity.\nGitOps, Security & Policy\nStandardize and maintain enterprise-scale CircleCI workflows and multi-cluster GitOps pipelines using ArgoCD.\nBuild reusable pipeline templates and deployment automation that support secure, repeatable application delivery.\nImplement Kubernetes security controls including IAM Roles for Service Accounts, Network Policies, secrets management, and policy-as-code validation.\nIntegrate security, resilience, performance, and cost-efficiency into platform design and delivery practices.\nTechnical Leadership & Observability\nMentor other DevOps engineers and help raise engineering maturity across teams.\nBuild comprehensive monitoring and distributed tracing capabilities across multi-cluster environments using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or comparable tools.\nPartner with engineering squads to understand their delivery needs and improve platform adoption and developer experience.\nMaintain an active coding footprint in Terraform, Python, Go, Bash, and system automation.\nWhat you'll bring\n\nExperience & Expertise\n8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, SRE, or DevOps platform roles.\n4+ years of hands-on experience designing, provisioning, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure at scale.\n3+ years of production experience administering Amazon EKS and multi-cluster containerized environments.\n1–2+ years of hands-on experience deploying and operating Istio Service Mesh or a similar container-mesh solution.\nExperience building reusable CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, or platform capabilities used by engineering teams.\nTechnical Skills\nCloud and infrastructure: AWS, EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53, S3, Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.\nCI/CD and GitOps: CircleCI, ArgoCD, GitOps workflows, reusable pipeline templates, runner infrastructure, and deployment automation.\nKubernetes operations: Karpenter or comparable autoscaling, multi-cluster operations, workload scheduling, cluster lifecycle management, and networking.\nService mesh and reliability: Istio or a comparable service mesh, Envoy, mTLS, traffic routing, canary releases, circuit breaking, observability, and incident response.\nSecurity and policy: IRSA, Kubernetes Network Policies, OPA or Kyverno, secrets management, vulnerability management, and secure supply-chain practices.\nIaC and automation: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Helm, Python, Go, Bash, or comparable tools.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with CircleCI in production.\nExperience with multi-cluster Istio or another service mesh.\nExperience with security scanning and policy tools such as SonarQube, Checkmarx, OPA, or Kyverno.\nCertifications such as CKA, CKS, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.\nExperience with Google Cloud Platform or GKE.\nProfessional Qualities\nStrong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.\nCollaborative approach to working across engineering, security, finance, product, and business teams.\nSelf-motivated and comfortable solving ambiguous problems in a growing platform organization.\nData-driven decision-making with empathy for developer experience.\nPractical judgment about when to standardize, when to provide flexibility, and how to drive adoption of shared platform capabilities.\nRealOwnership mindset with a focus on durable systems, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement.\nHow We Work:\nWe balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration.
