As Apprentice Electrician you will work under the guidance of a Journeyman level electrician assisting in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems on commercial work sites.\nGENERAL REQUIREMENTS:\nApprentice License: MUST have an Active Texas Apprentice License, through TDLR.\nLicenses/ID: Current Driver’s License and/or State ID.\nEducation: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent is preferred.\nExperience: Requires at least 1 year of experience in the E2 classification.\nTools: MUST have basic hand tools of the trade.\nPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nHelps in securing, relocating and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment from and back to appropriate storage areas.\nKeeps work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.\nKeeps materials and tools clean and organized in an orderly fashion.\nAssists in pulling wire, lifting, hoisting and positioning materials.\nMay operate less complicated hand tools and equipment under direct supervision of a Foreman or more senior electrician.\nDigs trenches by use of hand tools.\nAssists in mounting and strapping.\nMay assist more senior personnel in less complicated electrical installations under close supervision.\nPerforms other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.\nMeets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.\nDOES NOT WORK ON ENERGIZED CIRCUITS OR EQUIPMENT.\nMINUIMUM SKILLS PER RATING:\nE1 – Minimum Skills Required:\nPositively identify colors of wires.\nPerform a 90-degree conduit bend using hand benders.\nMust use all power tools, saws, threaders, and knockout punches.\nOperates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, & compression tools\nCapable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.\nCapable of performing a wire pull.\nRead and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, and written instructions.\nE2 – Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E 1)\nPerform Off-Set conduit bends with hand benders.\nCorrectly identify and explain markings on hand bender head.\nKnows wire pulling procedures.\nKnowledge of tools and materials.\nWall rough in\nFixture rough in\nIdentify correct Cap/Connector to corresponding wire gauge.\nWork from mechanical personnel lifts.\nE3 – Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E 2, E 1)\nPerform 3 Point Saddle, & Back-to-Back conduit bends with hand benders.\nTerminate junction boxes.\nInstall conduit Branch.\nInstall conduit Feeder.\nFixture connections\nUnderground rough in materials\nUnderground rough in methods\nOperate equipment, trenchers, backhoe, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, & lift trucks in a safe manner.\nComprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.\nOperate and mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered).\nE4 – Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E 3, E 2, E 1)\nPerform 4 Point Saddle, & Kick conduit bends with hand benders.\nBasic blueprint knowledge\nLayout from field sketches\nPanel terminations\nSize conduit and boxes\nUnderground layout and rough in\nE5 – Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E 4, E 3, E 2, E 1)\nLayout work and preps materials for installations\nTroubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems and equipment.\nPerforms underground layout and rough-in\nDetermines wire and conduit sizing.\nInstall buss feeders.\nPerforms switchgear installation and terminations.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nThis job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employee, subcontractors and trades.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
