This role is fully remote in any time zone for a six-month contract opportunity.\r\nOverview: In this role, the Application Data Modeler will engage with Software Engineers to design databases for online applications that provide industry-leading services to our customers. They will use cutting-edge data tools to design robust databases that promote high-quality, high-value data.\r\nCollaborate with software engineering teams to translate business requirements into database designs that accelerate the development of durable software products.\r\nUtilize modern data modeling tools to perform physical data modeling.\r\nFollow and contribute to data modeling best practices.\r\nPromote the capture and retention of metadata using a data catalog solution.\r\nCollaborate with database engineering, big data, and information security teams to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of all data.\r\nRequirements\r\n5–10 years of experience as an Application Data Modeler supporting relational database design and data normalization.\r\nExcellent collaboration and verbal & written communication skills.\r\nExperience working in an agile/scrum environment as a shared resource.\r\nExperience with data modeling tools such as DbSchema, ER/Studio or erwin.\r\nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.\r\nFamiliarity with a microservices architecture.\r\nExperience with data catalog tools such as Alation or Collibra.\r\nAn understanding of data governance concerns, including data privacy, security, and retention.\r\nExperience in Insurance, Insurtech, or Fintech environments.\r\nCompensation & Benefits\r\nThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.\r\nWe offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.\r\nNote: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested, and determinable.
