These individuals will work directly with warehouse supervisors and frontline employees to reinforce safe behaviors, provide real-time coaching, and improve overall safety performance in a fast-paced materials handling setting.This role is heavily focused on forklift safety, material handling, and warehouse floor risk reduction. The ideal candidate will come from an environment similar to Amazon, distribution, logistics, or high-volume warehouse operations, where there is constant movement of product, forklift traffic, and elevated risk around dropped loads, collisions, pedestrian interaction, and unsafe material movement.The consultant will be highly visible on the warehouse floor, helping coach employees and supervisors on hazard recognition, escalation, and safe execution. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, credibility on the floor, and the ability to mentor teams in real time.Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Coach warehouse supervisors on safety fundamentals, hazard identification, and escalation pathways Provide real-time floor support to warehouse associates and forklift operators Reinforce safe forklift operation, load handling, traffic awareness, and pedestrian safety Help prevent common warehouse incidents such as dropped loads, collisions, struck-by risks, and unsafe material movement Support onboarding by helping new employees understand warehouse safety expectations and site standards Participate in safety walkthroughs, huddles, and continuous improvement efforts Assist with incident and near-miss reviews, corrective actions, and follow-up on safety observations Promote strong day-to-day execution of PPE, hazard reporting, and safe materials handling practicesMust-Have Skills: Strong hands-on warehouse safety experience Strong forklift and powered industrial truck safety experience Strong materials handling experience in a warehouse or distribution environment Experience coaching frontline supervisors and employees on safe work practices Ability to identify and address risks such as dropped loads, collisions, congestion, and pedestrian interaction Comfortable being highly visible and hands-on on the warehouse floorPreferred Background: Amazon-style distribution, logistics, or high-volume warehouse environment Experience mentoring junior staff and supervisors Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or regulated operational environments
