The Data Center Tech will drive data center best practice and relative industry standards into working processes and procedures as/where applicable.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nDirectly support and complete all scheduled data center MACs (Moves/Adds/Changes)\nHardware installation MACs, including device labeling, power connectivity and network cable connectivity\nComplete hardware support work orders involving hardware and cabling MACs, certification, troubleshooting and break-fix\nAsset management, auditing and daily work log/ticket tracking\nProvide smart-hands assistance as required for multiple customers at various sites within specified SLA response times (on-call duties may apply)\nMaintain a safe and secure operating environment within the data center and report any violations to their immediate supervisor\nDetailed and thorough documentation and record keeping\nMaintain site security protocols, badging requirements and data protection procedures\nEnsure all media storage devices (Hard drives, thumb drives, CD/DVD’s, etc.) are properly logged, secured and documented to ensure compliance with retention practices\nStrong working knowledge with server and network hardware/components, copper and fiber infrastructure installation and testing, data center productivity and support tools, applications and software (Windows, Linux, SSH, RDP, Putty, etc.), and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) related tools\nCoordinate equipment/material receiving, shipping and RMA processing support as/when required\nProvide vendor and security escorts as needed\nProvide general cleaning on raised floor, cabinet/rack exterior surfaces, work benches and other areas as needed on a regular basis\nSupport standard and emergency operating procedures for data center.\nProvide status reporting regarding Data Center service availability, performance, capacity utilization as required\nDaily error log reporting and physical DC inspections for general health, power, cooling, hazards, etc.\nCoordinates equipment installation and delivery schedules in accordance with set project plans\nOn-Call duties as needed\nPhysical and Mental Requirements:\nMust be self-motivated, detail oriented, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s)\nMust promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners\n2+ years working in data centers, operations or related technical field\nGeneral knowledge of server/network equipment and software support configurations\nIntermediate understanding of AC/DC power principles, data center power distribution and data center best practices\nStrong aptitude for independent working environment and high productivity rate\nMust be able to act as the company liaison for interface with customer representative(s)\nMust possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s)\nMust be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds\nMust be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones\nExcellent communication and customer relationship skills\nRegular attendance is mandatory\nEducation, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:\nMust possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency\nTwo (2) years minimum of data center experience\nMust possess at least two (2) active industry certifications\nMust be highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)\nMust meet Company minimum driving standards\nDisclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
