Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead Systems Engineering activities to ensure successful HW/SW integration and test for critical mission systems.\n\nDevelop and define system architectures to meet program requirements.\n\nAnalyze requirements to support system design, SW/HW integration and test.\n\nCollaborate with cross-contractor teams to ensure system performance and compliance.\n\nPrepare system documentation and participate in technical reviews (SRR, PDR, etc).\n\nSupport test planning and risk assessments.\n\nCollaborate closely with SW development team to execute rigorous systems engineering using SysML and Cameo/MSOSA modeling.\n\nWork daily in a SCIF with an Agile drumbeat.\n\nRequired Education and Years of Experience\n\nEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nActive TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance (has been active in the past 24 months).\n\nU.S. Citizenship.\n\nStrong knowledge of Systems Engineering best practices, including management requirements, architecture development, functional allocation, verification, validation.\n\nExcellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.\n\nProficiency in SysML modeling.\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nExperience in software systems engineering and familiarity with the software development lifecycle.\n\nPrior experience working within Agile teams.\n\nHands‑on experience with Cameo or Catia Magic Systems-of-Systems Architect tools.\n\nTelework/Remote Availability\nTelework/Remote work currently not authorized.\n\nWork Location\nHerndon, VA.\n\nSummary Pay Range\n$155,000 - $190,000.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nBI&A is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
