This role supports installation, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management of network hardware, software, virtualization platforms, and communication systems. The engineer collaborates closely with network, systems, and cybersecurity teams to ensure reliability, compliance, and mission readiness.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n1. Network & Infrastructure Architecture\n\n· Design, configure, and test enterprise networking hardware, software, virtualization platforms, and operating systems.\nPerform network and systems modeling, analysis, and capacity planning.\nDevelop architecture diagrams (e.g., OV-1, SV-1) and design documentation.\nCreate accurate network diagrams, technical specifications, and functional requirement documents.\nAnalyze and engineer infrastructure and software solutions to meet mission and operational requirements.\n\n2. Implementation, Integration & Lifecycle Upgrades\n· Lead infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, migrations, and system modernization efforts.\nDevelop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for network and infrastructure initiatives.\nInstall, configure, optimize, and support enterprise network, system, and virtualization components.\nManage and coordinate activities with hardware, software, and technology vendors.\n\n3. Operations, Troubleshooting & Optimization\n· Monitor, maintain, and support network hardware, software, virtualization platforms, and communication systems.\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues across network, system, and virtualization layers.\nConduct performance tuning and identify opportunities for reliability and capacity improvements.\nAdminister and support Windows Server–based environments.\n\n4. Security, Compliance & Risk Management\n· Implement and maintain network and system security measures in alignment with cybersecurity and IA requirements.\nCollaborate with cybersecurity staff to resolve security issues promptly.\nProtect data, software, and hardware through proactive security planning and controls.\nEnsure compliance with DoD and organizational cybersecurity standards.\n\n5. Platform & Technology Expertise\n· Design, implement, and support Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.\nMaintain strong knowledge of application transport protocols and network infrastructure technologies.\nStay current with emerging technologies relevant to enterprise network and system environments.\n\n6. Documentation & Asset Management\n· Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for network, system, and virtualization infrastructures.\nManage device inventories, asset tracking, and configuration baselines.\n\n7. Collaboration & Communication\n· Work effectively with cross-functional IT teams, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.\nProvide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise during engineering efforts.\nCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.\n\n8.
