{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"4a8cf267197c908746a72ecd","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4a8cf267197c908746a72ecd","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4a8cf267197c908746a72ecd","title":"Processing Plant Operator - Packaging","description":"Description:\nClassification: Nonexempt\nReports to: Processing Plant Manager\nDate: March 1, 2019\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nSummary/Objective:\nAssists with all processing operations in the plant with emphasis on a production area or line such as packaging or evisceration in order to produce high quality products in a safe and efficient manner.\nEssential Functions\nThe Plant Operator is responsible for assisting in all areas of the plant including all production areas while meeting production deadlines, ensuring quality standards are met and following all safety standards.\nResponsibilities include inspecting product coming out of various machines to insure proper removal of waste and inspect that proper cuts are made.\nMaintain understanding of plant equipment operations and belt lifts. Operate equipment as directed by management and per safety protocols and operating instructions.\nFill orders per special customer requests and work to deliver in a timely and efficient manner.\nPrepare boxes and packaging as required to meet customer orders.\nInterface with maintenance crew to ensure equipment operations are consistent with product quality standards. Alert maintenance or management when equipment or product quality falls below standards or there are safety concerns.\nWork with sanitation crew to ensure cleanliness of area equipment and ensure food safety standards are adhered to.\nSort fish according to specification while paying close attention to detail and always working towards continual improvement.\nAlways work to produce products people can trust by recognizing poor quality coming off the processing machines or at your station and communicating with management.\nComplete all tasks including equipment operations and knife handling based on required safety guidelines.\nMaintain appropriate housekeeping and sanitation procedures within the plant and wash down station regularly and as required.\nProvide prompt, friendly and courteous service to internal and external customers.\nContinually pursue sustainability of our natural resources with every decision, decreasing waste and being conscious of individual choices.\nAdvocate positive change within our plant and company, empowering one another.\nOther duties as required.\nRequirements:\nCompetencies\nAttention to detail.\nSafety.\nContinual Improvement.\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in an industrial processing plant environment. This position requires work in a refrigerated, cold and humid environment and requires standing for long periods of time.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nThis is physically demanding job requiring the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and regularly carry and lift 35 pounds. Standing for long periods of time is required. The work environment is cold and damp and PPE such as slip resistant rubber boots are required.\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work\nWork time is from 6:30 a.m. with a flexible end time of between 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. or whenever processing is completed. Some weekend availability is required.\nTravel\nTravel is not required.\nRequired Education and Experience\nThe ability to speak, read, hear, understand and follow directions with or without reasonable accommodations is required.\nPreferred Education and Experience\nH.S.
