They will play a supporting role in achieving the organizations goals by operating in key development role with design, peer review, coding, and troubleshooting support. This position will directly impact warfighter technologies that represent the intersection of autonomy, artificial intelligence, robotics and unmanned systems that are empowered by the application of intelligent automation systems to defeat enemy threats and technologies.\n\nCORE FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES\nLEVEL 2\nAble to perform the following with supervision:\nDesigning, coding, and testing software applications.\nCollaborate with senior developers to understand project requirements and contribute to development efforts.\nWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented code.\nParticipate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.\nDebug and fix minor software issues.\nLearn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages as needed.\nContribute to the maintenance and improvement of existing software systems.\nParticipate in Agile methodologies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.\nAttend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.\nLEVEL 3\nAble to perform the following independently, under minimum supervision:\nDesign, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions that meet project requirements and best practices.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project needs and implement effective solutions.\nWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented code using program preferred languages.\nParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality and enhance team skills.\nAnalyze and optimize database performance, including designing schemas and writing efficient queries.\nImplement and integrate APIs, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.\nContribute to the entire software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to maintenance.\nTroubleshoot and debug software issues.\nParticipate in Agile methodologies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.\n\nBASIC SKILLS\nLEVEL 2\nTwo (2) to three (3) years of experience and basic knowledge of the following:\nProgramming languages: Java, JavaScript, C++, C, Typescript, and/or Rust\nData structures and algorithms\nVersion control systems: GIT\nDatabase technologies\nSoftware development methodologies: Agile\nTesting procedures and debugging techniques: Eclipse and Visual Studio Code\nSoftware security principle\nTechnical Documentation\nHardware Integration into a Software Application\nLEVEL 3\nThree (3) to five (5) years of experience and possess a deep understanding of:\nProgramming languages: Java, JavaScript, C++, C, Typescript, and/or Rust\nData structures, algorithms, and software design patterns\nVersion control systems: GIT\nTesting procedures and debugging techniques: Eclipse and Visual Studio Code\nAgile development methodologies\nDatabase technologies and ORM techniques\nFront-end technologies and relevant frameworks\nCloud platforms\nContainerization and microservices architecture\nContinuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices\nSoftware security principles and best practices\nTechnical Documentation\nHardware Integration into a Software Application\n\nEDUCATION\nBS in relevant STEM degree Required\n\nCERTIFICATIONS\nRelevant Software Development Certification Required, in lieu of BS STEM Degree\n\nPAY RANGE\n$95,000.00 to $145,000.00 annually, DOE\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThis job is expected to work 100% on site\nMay be expected to lift up to 25 lbs\nFrequent use of keyboard and typing\nFrequent sitting and standing\nTravel one to two weeks annually\n\nWORK SCHEDULE\nSTD 80\nMust have ability to work within company and customer schedule requirements which may vary depending on criticality and necessity of a given task.\nThe ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements\n\nU.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED\nSECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret with the ability to obtain TS/SCI\nCandidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score).
