As a Jr DevOps Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for distributed and managed services automating the installation, configuration and maintenance of platform services.\n\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:\nAutomate and optimize service deployments\nIntegrate with enterprise authentication services\nEstablish and Improve system monitoring while maintaining established security protocols within development, test, and production systems.\nArchitect, build and maintain On-Prem and cloud infrastructure to support team and customer initiatives\nMaintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc.)\nAdminister production, staging and development environments\nManage and aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system related incidents\nMonitor and analyze system performance, such as server load and resource usage\nMaintain and improve existing build and deployment processes using CI/CD tools\nApply configuration management disciplines to maintain software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentation\nEnforce best practices for security and reliability, and drive security initiatives, like access control and vulnerability testing\nWork with A&A Teams to maintain security requirements for operation of systems\nMaintain documentation of designs/configurations, ensuring team members have continuity of recurring tasks\nFollow up on engineering tasks for operational solutions, and validate completion\nManage operational readiness board – present at weekly meetings and determine if development services are ready for automation based on best practices and maintainability\nTrack and ensure routine operations maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner\nParticipant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings\nOn-call support will be required\nQualifications:\nClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly\n\nEducation/Experience:\n2+ years of experience\nRequired Skills:\n\nExperience working with container images and platforms (Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift)\nStrong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes\nUnderstanding of GitLab or other DevOps/Continuous Integration tools\nUnderstanding of microservice design and architectural pattern best practices\nUnderstanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scripting\nKnowledge of network technologies, common infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, virtual and physical infrastructure design\nStrong problem solving and troubleshooting skills\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nMust possess excellent time management skills and the drive to work unsupervised\nExperience with deploying On-Prem infrastructure\nWhat is ideal?\nExperience in building processes for deploying to a Kubernetes based environment using Gitlab and Helm\nUnderstanding of access management and security groups (i.e. IAM, S3 bucket, SSH, VPN, etc.)\nAbility to write and use unit and functional testing\nExperience using Jira and Confluence\nIntelligence Community Experience preferred\nWhat you can expect from us:\nRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonuses\nYou’ll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence community\nThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $104,000-$119,000.
