The Sr. Systems Cloud Engineer will support all Bunzl’s business areas with the objective of maximizing effective data processing, communications, server resources and business processes using Active Directory, Azure, and other Microsoft 365 technologies. This role will be critical in developing and implementing overall Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows server governance, and policy. The role will actively drive technical process improvements and technology roadmaps, including defining improvements of existing environments, designing future architectures and refining the Bunzl information architecture.\n\nThis position is based in St. Louis, Missouri.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nAdministration and troubleshooting of objects, groups, and policies in a Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID hybrid environment\nOrganize AD user accounts and server objects via organizational units and Global Policy Object (GPOs)\nManage Entra ID users, groups, and conditional access policies\nMaintain and troubleshooting of on-premises and MS Azure hosted Windows server virtual machines\nAdministration of a hybrid Exchange environment, including mail routing, synchronization, and mail tracing across multiple mail security tools\nDesign, implement, and maintain automated patch management workflows for server operating systems to ensure security compliance and system stability\nWork within existing service management incident tracking system and self-manage projects in a timely fashion\nEngineer and implement new M365, Azure, and other related Microsoft technologies and provide technical leadership to the department\nContribute to the design and implementation of comprehensive cloud strategies, driving modernization and adoption across Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms\nDevelop technical integration plans for business acquisitions\nDevelop and present training for Infrastructure operations teams\nResearch, development, and maintenance of server security in accordance with business standards and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance\nResearch, develop, and test new software solutions\nPeriodic “Disaster Recovery” drills during non-business hours\nEvaluate, design and architect server system solutions to meet emerging business requirements\nCreate and maintain appropriate policies and architectural documentation\nParticipation in periodic 24/7 “on call” rotation duty to field critical server system support issues\n\nRequirements:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work experience preferred\nPossess expert knowledge and troubleshooting skills with Windows Server, Azure, M365, and related technologies\nMaintain working experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, and related technologies\nDeploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016 through 2025) across physical and virtual infrastructures\nConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot essential enterprise networking protocols and services, including DNS resolution, DHCP scope management, and TLS/SSL certificate lifecycles\nAutomate and streamline tasks via PowerShell scripting\nApply knowledge of standard system health monitoring and endpoint detection tools\nDesign, execute, and maintain comprehensive server backup strategies and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity\nAdminister Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid configuration with Exchange Online\nThrive in a fast-paced environment with dynamically changing priorities and requirements\nDemonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities\nMaintain a customer-service-oriented approach\nCreate required reports in response to management & business user needs\nAdapt to occasional travel and after-hours work requirements\nAct as a team player, communicating effectively both verbally and in written form\n\nThe perks of being a Bunzl team member don’t stop at being part of a great team or being valued as our #1 asset.
