Although we can provide many of the same services you will find in a big city, we take great pride in our friendly and caring staff.The Account Coordinator works closely with patients regarding their medical billing. The position coordinates with healthcare staff to ensure bills are properly coded, processed, and documentation of patient diagnoses and treatment is accurate for optimum insurance claim reimbursement. The Account Coordinator bills insurance companies for all healthcare charges, pursues collection of claims until payment is made by insurance companies, and performs other work associated with the patient billing process.Job DutiesReceives Patient Phone calls and completes follow-up calls until questions are resolvedCollaborates with the billing vendorCoordinate with medical staff to ensure correct diagnosis and procedure codes are reported on billingKeep current on all billing and benefit changes for third-party insurance carriersMonitor clams for missing informationMaintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policyComplete work in a timely manner to assure compliance with departmental standards and filing of claimsJob RequirementsThe Account Coordinator assumes other responsibilities as assigned.Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisionsStrong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the publicDetail-oriented with proven ability to multitaskComputer skills, including MSOffice, Outlook, and Meditech, preferred10 key knowledge and computer experience, requiredAbility to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations, as well as exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly.
