{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"4a26df698146d250507451b6","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4a26df698146d250507451b6","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4a26df698146d250507451b6","title":"Hypervisor Engineer","description":"Hypervisor Engineer\nDescription -\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement all aspects of system level software such VMM/hypervisors, operating systems, device drivers and PC firmware\nWork on new projects as well as provide support and improvements for existing components\nAnalyse and debug problems at the cross-section of hardware, firmware and software\nProvide solutions for macro and micro verification of the developed components\nTake ownership of large functional areas such as memory manager or networking subsystem\nProvide performance improvements for existing solutions\nProvide engineering support for customer issues, this may require remote or on-site problem analysis and direct collaboration with a customer\nProvide efficient designs aligned with business needs\nCollaborate with other development and management teams to provide solutions that fit into existing constraints as well as provide leadership when such constrains needs to be changed\nJob Requirements:\nExpert understanding of modern computer architectures with focus on x86-64 architecture and PC platforms\nExpert understanding of virtualization technologies, including hardware assisted virtualization (both VT-x and AMDV) and auxiliary technologies such as IO-MMU\nExpert understanding of modern operating systems (Windows and Linux)\nExperience with building efficient memory manager solutions for virtualization products\nExperience with building efficient nested virtualization products\nExperience in building CPU instructions emulators\nHands-on experience developing PC platform components such as xHCI controllers (and USB stack in general), PCI, AHCI, ACPI, PS/2, etc., device virtualization and emulation experience is a plus\nReverse engineering experience of closed-sourced systems such as Hyper-V and Windows kernel\nHands-on experience with building WHP based solutions\nStrong debugging and analytical skills\n5+ years of experience in kernel and device driver development in Linux or Windows\n5+ years of experience developing system software in C and x86 assembler\nThe following skills and attributes are a plus:\nUnderstanding of ARM64 architecture\nExperience with Microsoft Windows Hypervisor Platform\nDeep understanding of components in the OSI networking model with emphasis on TCP/IP protocols\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred\nCompetencies:\nTeam work\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at different organizational levels\nStrong technical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent time management and workload assessment skills\nContinuous learning and development\n\nThe pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
