You will own the project control activity globally and drive consistent functional specifications and common global processes for projects implementation. There are no direct reports, you will be doing the execution phase only and managing a budget. You will be expected to travel 1 week per month domestically ResponsibilitiesServes as the technical leader/manager to develop a scope of work and plan schedule andmonitor engineering activities for customer projects. Provide technical leadership andinterface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, ProductEngineering, Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/qualityresource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributestowards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; hasworking knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areasof operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes newperspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for dataanalysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sourcesoutside of own function to arrive at decisions.Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects withmoderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.Own the engineering execution of BOP-scoped Projects from Contract signature until theend of contractual obligations.Manage a cross functional Engineering team to master the risks and opportunities of theContract.Providing technical guidance and assistance to Project Management and the clients internalengineering teams.Reviewing Customer specifications and communicating contract and project requirementsto all design functions, utilizing internal documentation systems.Evaluating financial/schedule impact of Customer requested scope changes.Providing technical support to Engineering, Sourcing, Vendors, and Installation teams toensure equipment meets all Customer requirements and business objectives.Enforce quality procedures and participate in their improvement.Assure the experience feedback by capturing issues (Lessons Learned).Work in a matrix organization with numerous interfaces: In house with mainly theEngineering departments of Belfort, Baden, Noida, Queretaro, Schenectady, andGreenville. In house with fellow PEM’s and Project Coordinators. In house with projectmanagers, quality, sourcing, logistics and scheduling. Externally with Customers, partners,EPCs, and subcontractorsServe as Senior Project Engineering Manager, when assigned, to lead and facilitate a totalproject solution across all product lines: Global technical project focal point… partner withproject manager for customer/EPC meetings, etc. Drive consistent project requirement flow down across product lines (GT/ST/Gen/BOP) (Contractual/compliance). Drive–functional resolution to technical project issues from a system level across product lines. Respect of the contractual obligations while protecting the customer satisfaction. Management of technical risks of the project.
