This position oversees the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.\nThe Controller plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, producing accurate and timely financial statements, and optimizing financial systems. This role supports organizational decision-making and contributes to the overall success of the BHMG team.\nKey Responsibilities\nAs Controller, you will support key financial operations across the organization, ensuring accurate execution of the full accounting cycle while maintaining strong internal controls, reliable reporting, and effective systems that support informed-decision making.\nYou will:\nOversee the preparation and analysis of financial KPIs and dashboards for executive leadership.\nLead financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.\nIdentify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.\nCoordinate external audits and tax return preparation, ensuring all documentation and schedules are accurate and complete.\nPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nOversee payroll operations and ensure accuracy in payroll accounting.\nLead the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts.\nMaintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with GAAP.\nOversee account reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.\nImplement, maintain, and optimize financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows.\nPromote efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across all financial operations.\nUtilize advanced Excel and NetSuite capabilities to support reporting, analysis, and decision-support functions.\nPeople Leadership\nLead and mentor accounting staff; provide coaching, feedback, and career development guidance. Delegate tasks and oversee work.\nFacilitate 1:1 meetings and check-ins to maintain alignment, accountability, and performance transparency.\nFoster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.\nRequirements:\nEducation/Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline\nTypically, 10 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility. This role is well-suited for individuals ready to take their next step into a Controller position or those early in their tenure as a Controller.\nCPA preferred\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and NetSuite\nAuthorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship\nDesired Skills & Attributes:\nDeep technical accounting expertise, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop the accounting team and oversee all financial operations.\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and NetSuite, including complex reporting, modeling, and system optimization.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment in financial decision-making.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, effectively partnering with the CFO, auditors, and executive leadership.\nWhat We Offer:\n\nAt BHMG, we’re committed to raising the bar for what it means to work at an engineering and consulting firm.
