We have a state of the art facility that was built in 2017 and are looking to continue to grow our strong team as our business grows!We offer Full health benefits, a 401(k) program with a company match and an annual discretionary Profit Sharing bonus program!This position would be a Monday - Friday position with competitive wages!This is an In-person position with some remote work negotiable.Wage is negotiable and will be discussed during the interview process.To learn more about Astrup Companies and our story, go to this link: https://astrupcompanies.comQualifications:Required Education/Training/Professional Experience:o Bachelor’s degree in accounting.o Proficiency in US GAAP.o Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.o Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, filters, sorting, pivot tables, macros/VBA, tools, etc.)o Strong analytical skills, especially with large, complex, and imperfect raw data sets that require manipulation, judgement, and providing insights to stakeholders.o Proficiency in relevant technology/software (Microsoft Office Suite, banking, reconciliations, ERP, employee expense, HRIS/Payroll).o Excels at organization and time management.o Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).o Must be highly adaptable, resourceful, accountable, independent, inquisitive, and driven.Preferred Education/Training/Professional Experience:o CPA strongly preferredo CPA firm experience strongly preferredo Proficiency with NetSuite strongly preferredPosition Summary: Sterling Specialty Pharmacy is a quickly-growing innovator in the pharmacy space. Sterling has over 120 employees, with a small but mighty leadership team. The senior accountant role is an opportunity to be a trusted and key member of the business, with a goal of growing the position into a member of the leadership team. This position comes with a high degree of visibility, autonomy, responsibility, and influence on senior leadership/ownership decision-making. The senior accountant will initially support the Controller in managing and recording financial transactions in the general ledger, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting, and financial analysis. Over time, the senior accountant will own the majority of the month-end close process. This role is expected to grow to have opportunities to spearhead key initiatives outside of accounting for the betterment of the business (misc. compliance, cost-containment, revenue-optimization, etc.) and support leadership initiatives (contract management, business development, resource-capacity planning, etc.) This role is an exciting opportunity to be exposed to the whole business in a family-friendly and FUN environment.Core Competencies & Responsibilities: Prepare and review journal entries.Conduct and review reconciliations of asset/liability/equity accounts.Manage, execute, and review revenue/expense/payroll cycles.Prepare accurate, timely and controlled financial analysis on a periodic and an ad hoc basis.Apply and manage internal controls where appropriate.Prepare financial statements, regulatory filings, and compliance reports.Communicate closely with other accounting staff on an assortment of accounting issues.Assist with external auditor requests.Assist Controllers, CFO, and senior leaders with a variety of tasks as needed.Execute special projects as requested by management on an individual basis with speed and quality.Licensure/Certification Requirements: NonePerformance Requirements:Possess a thorough knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systemsComply to all Astrup Companies policy and proceduresCreate a culture of positivity and excitement within the workplaceDevelop constructive and cooperative working relationships with other team members.
