Applicants must have valid U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.\nKey Responsibilities: Develop and implement test procedures and equipment for mechanical systems and components operating at high temperatures\nAnalyze test data and develop reports to communicate findings to other team members and stakeholders\nDevelop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, assembly travelers, inspection criteria, torque specifications, and controlled production documentation\nDesign assembly fixtures, alignment jigs, inspection gauges, and mechanical test equipment that enable repeatable production without continuous design-engineering support\nParticipate in supplier qualification, supplier audits, first-article inspections, and vendor corrective actions, particularly for precision machining, coatings, surface treatments, and high-temperature components\nPerform verification of material and component traceability, including material certifications, heat numbers, mill test reports, coating records, and inspection documentation\nDesign and develop mechanical systems and components for directional drilling equipment\nConduct research to identify materials and methods that can improve product performance in high-temperature environments\nPerform thermal and structural analysis using simulation software to ensure equipment can withstand high temperatures and pressures\nResponsible for defining and supporting incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final acceptance testing, and production quality gates\nDevelop and execute environmental and mechanical qualification testing, such as thermal cycling, high-temperature testing, pressure testing, shock, vibration, and HASS/ESS activities\nResponsible for conducting failure analysis and forensic teardown of field-returned tools, documenting root cause, and recommended corrective actions\nParticipate in a formal Engineering Change Order process, ensuring field lessons and design improvements are incorporated into units already in production\nSupport production troubleshooting, nonconformance resolution, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives\nCollaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, suppliers, technicians, and external test laboratories to meet the planned fleet ramp from prototypes to commercial production\nResponsible for improving manufacturability, assembly time, product cost, reliability, repeatability, and production throughput\nThis position requires the engineer to spend meaningful time in the production area, supplier facilities, test laboratories, and field-support activities rather than working solely in a design-office environment\nCollaborate with other engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget\nParticipate in the product development process from concept to launch\nTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in existing products and develop improvements for reliability, performance, and cost to manufacture as part of an ongoing continuous improvement program\nInterface and troubleshoot problems with Production department to achieve efficient manufacture and commercialization of Hephae’s tools\nQualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 0–5 years of experience, including internships or early-career roles involving manufacturing, production, quality, or mechanical assembly.\nFamiliarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, root-cause analysis, FMEA, 8D/CAPA, first-article inspection, and basic statistical process control preferred.\nKnowledge of heat transfer, mechanical systems, mechanical testing, and material science\nProficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD with experience in mechanical testing, drawing interpretation, and tolerance analysis\nExperience with simulation software, such as ANSYS or COMSOL preferred but not required\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment\nExperience with product development processes from concept to launch is a
