This role focuses on comprehensive performance evaluation, design validation, and optimization of robotic systems at scale. You will create detailed technical reports examining robot dynamics, kinematics, and performance characteristics to support the development and deployment of innovative automation solutions. A critical aspect of this role is producing data-informed insights for customer requirement negotiations and clarifying ambiguity in design specifications—you'll need to prioritize assessment efforts, establish what matters most, and continuously refine both the design and examination processes to improve our capability to deliver robotic systems over time.\n\nKey job responsibilities\nThe Mechatronics Engineer will be accountable for:\n\nWorking with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing\nIntake robotic concepts and high level requirements and create kinematic concepts based on a family of components\nCapability to do some basic first-precepts examination of loads and feasibility checks\nGenerate URDF files\nDrive dynamics evaluation using MATLAB dynamics examination tools\nInterpret outputs of the assessment and feed back into further iteration on robot concepts\nBe able to collaborate directly with customers to align on requirements, discuss tradeoffs, communicate concepts clearly, etc\nAbility to code/script in Matlab\nExhibit role model behaviors of thorough engineering assessments and cradle to grave ownership\nDesign and adaptation of holistic hardware solutions for ambiguous problems with fluid requirements\nWorking with cross-functional teams, vendors and integrators to deliver automation solutions\n\nA day in the life\nAmazon offers a full range of benefits to support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children.
