In this position, you'll process patient specimens, perform a broad range of laboratory testing, operate advanced laboratory instrumentation, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure the highest standards of quality and service. If you're a detail-oriented laboratory professional who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment, we encourage you to apply.\n\nPay:\nStarting at $28.00 per hour for ASCP-certified Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT)\nStarting at $34.00 per hour for ASCP-certified Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS)\nSchedule:\nPRN - As Needed (days and hours vary based on laboratory coverage needs)\nBenefits:\n401(k) with discretionary employer match\nFree in-house clinical diagnostic laboratory testing\nMinimum Qualifications:\nEducation: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology for MLT candidates or bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related laboratory science program for MLS candidates.\nCertification: Current ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is required.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nSafely and effectively perform phlebotomy while on-call only at neighboring hospital.\nCover on-call hours as needed to ensure laboratory coverage.\nEnsure accurate and timely processing and testing of collected specimens.\nPerform the full range of laboratory tests, including Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.\nUse a microscope to evaluate cells and bacteria by shape, size, and color, and identify colorimetric reactions and color differences in crystals.\nOperate complex automated laboratory equipment, electronic equipment, computer software, and precision instruments.\nEvaluate test results and recognize abnormal values in specific population groups.\nReport laboratory findings to pathologists and other healthcare providers.\nDevelop and modify laboratory procedures as needed.\nEstablish and monitor quality programs to ensure the accuracy of laboratory testing.\nParticipate in all aspects of proficiency testing.\nUnderstand and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.\nPerform administrative duties while providing excellent customer service to patients, clients, and employees.\n\nGeneral Physical Requirements\n\nLab staff must wear appropriate protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, and face shield) at all times while in the lab and are regularly exposed to infection by handling potentially infectious samples. Physical requirements, in addition to willingness & ability to wear protective gear while working, are:\n\nAbility to sit and or stand for extended period of times\nLift up to 25 pounds\nMobility to climb stairs on a regular basis\nMust be able to distinguish color and pass vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations\n\nOSHA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues.
