Java Software Engineer
Job Summary Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team! This position is located in St. Louis, MO.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, enhance, and support Java Spring Boot microservices and APIsBuild and maintain real-time event-driven data pipelines using Kafka Streams and Confluent KafkaCollaborate within Agile Scrum teams on user stories, troubleshooting, and sprint deliveryAnalyze business requirements and translate them into scalable API-led integration solutionsTroubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsDevelop and support RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpointsAutomate builds and deployments using CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practicesContribute to API development standards, architecture patterns, and best practicesMentor junior developers and support technical knowledge sharingParticipate in load/performance testing and cloud-native solution developmentWork cross-functionally with architects, testers, and product teams to deliver enterprise-scale integrationsRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field7+ years of relevant enterprise software engineering experienceJava development experienceSpring Boot experienceConfluent Kafka experienceNode.js backend development (Express/NestJS preferred)Strong JavaScript knowledge (Promises, async/await)MongoDBRedisAWS cloud services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, CloudWatch)Terraform / Infrastructure as CodeSQL/RDBMS query optimizationPython scripting and automation exposureKey Competencies & BehaviorsAgile/Scrum methodologiesCI/CD and DevSecOps practicesStrong communication and collaboration skillsMentoring and technical leadership capabilitiesAbility to align technical solutions with business objectivesWork EnvironmentLocation: Hybrid in St. Louis, MOCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and 58.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
