Volunteer DescriptionUnpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles.Volunteer OpportunitiesPatient CareProvide compassionate companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and their families. Activities may include:Social visits and conversationReading aloudPlaying gamesMusic or art activitiesWriting or recording personal and family historiesRespite CareOffer temporary relief to caregivers who may be physically and emotionally exhausted. This allows caregivers time to:Run errandsExerciseRest or spend time aloneAttend appointmentsBereavement SupportSupport Families Throughout The Dying And Grieving Process ByAssisting with group meetings and memorial servicesProviding follow-up support to familiesCreating hand molds for patientsWorking closely with social workers and chaplainsOffice SupportAssist Hospice Staff With Administrative Tasks, IncludingSending birthday cardsAssembling mailing packetsMaking supply calls to patientsHelping with hospice eventsVolunteer QualificationsVolunteers must:Be 18 years of age or olderBe able to work independently within the scope of assigned dutiesDemonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skillsBe a good listener and practice active listeningMaintain and respect professional boundariesPossess sound mental and emotional healthBe sensitive to patients and familiesWork well with diverse populations and family dynamicsStay calm in stressful situationsBe self-motivated, flexible, and adaptableCommit to at least 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 monthsHave reliable transportation (service area spans Eagle Mountain to Santaquin)No Additional Description AvailableLocation:Home Services - ProvoCityProvoStateUtahIntermountain Health is an equal opportunity employer.
