In this role, you will join a team of multi-disciplined engineers and technical professionals responsible for ensuring the successful design, development, manufacture, installation and life cycle support of Automated Ultrasonic Scanning Systems (AUSS) Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) products for worldwide internal and external aerospace programs. This position offers an opportunity to join a high visibility team of exceptional engineers and technicians as it expands to meet growing industry demand.\r\nThis position will report to the Manager of AUSS in Boeing Global Services Off Platform Support Equipment.\r\nPosition Responsibilities:\r\nDesigns and integrates mechanical components for complex automated factory inspection systems, including machine structural pieces, probe mounting/adjustment mechanisms, drive systems (motor, gearboxes, linear bearings), cable handling, water containment, part fixturing and safety systems utilizing variety of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, sheet metal, EDM) and materials (metals, plastics, composites)\r\nEnsure designs meet safety standards (functional safety) and regulatory requirements\r\nCreate, interpret and modify drawings used for manufacture of mechanical machine components\r\nTroubleshoots complex electrical-mechanical systems in multi-disciplinary integration environments\r\nRoutinely travels to customer sites across US and international to support system-level installation, integration, commissioning, debugging, and sustainment activities\r\nSolicits and refines process improvements to improve product quality and efficiency\r\nEffectively communicates complex technical issues to product team, leadership, and customers\r\nUtilizes strong business acumen to represent Boeing and its products to customers\r\nPerforms efficiently in a fast-paced, challenging, and diverse work environment\r\nTravels both domestically and internationally nominally 20% of the time, up to 50% of the time\r\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\r\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)\r\n2+ years of experience working in an Engineering environment\r\n2+ years of experience working with Computer Aided Design (CAD)\r\nExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical data\r\nWilling to travel domestically and internationally as needed\r\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\r\nActive Security Clearance\r\nExperience with Siemens NX\r\nExperience analyzing deflection and loads/stress of structures\r\nExperience performing Finite element analysis\r\nFamiliarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing\r\nExperience designing and integrating mechanical components for machine tools, field support equipment, or automated systems\r\nExperience performing system-level integration, testing, commissioning, or troubleshooting of automated equipment or data acquisition systems in lab or factory environments\r\nExperience in industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing systems\r\nExperience in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) or Non-destructive Test (NDT)\r\nConflict of Interest:\r\nSuccessful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.\r\nDrug Free Workplace:\r\nBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\r\nPay & Benefits:\r\nAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
