The role requires technical expertise in one craft area such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations, along with multi-skilled capabilities in other areas.ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, monitor, and repair mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to ensure standards are met.\r\nTravel between multiple facilities to ensure their proper functioning.\r\nMaintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.\r\nMaintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC system performance.\r\nRecord readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.\r\nComply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.\r\nPerform periodic checks of tools and instruments.\r\nMonitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.\r\nFollow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in work areas, identifying hazards and proposing solutions.\r\nQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.\r\n5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.\r\nAbility to analyze operation of commercial or industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine issues, and take corrective action.\r\nEPA 608 Type II Certification.\r\nWorking knowledge of computer applications such as Word and Excel.\r\nValid driver's license.\r\nA Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is not required.\r\nPreferred QualificationsEPA 608 Universal Certification.\r\nTwo years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.The shift for this role is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.We thank all applicants for their interest.
