This is more than a role—it’s an opportunity to shape a program from the ground up and make a lasting impact.As Program Director, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Rising Recovery center and will ensure operational compliance with licensing regulations, accrediting agency standards, and Buckelew Programs' policies and procedures. You will support the mission and values of Buckelew through ethical conduct, confidentiality, and effective program delivery. In addition to operational oversight, as Program Director, you will contribute to program development across the continuum of services and serve as a member of BP’s Leadership Team.ResponsibilitiesAdministrative OversightLead planning, growth, staffing, and development of assigned program(s).Set annual program goals, objectives, and activities.Collaborate with financial staff to develop and monitor budgets; ensure expenditures align with approved budgets and policies.Coordinate with Administrative and Operations teams to maintain compliance with internal procedures.Staff ManagementHire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers in line with agency policies.Ensure staff conduct proper client assessments and develop treatment/termination plans with appropriate referrals.Manage program intake and client case assignments.Coordinate with Quality and Compliance staff to handle records requests and subpoenas.Partner with the People Team to ensure proper implementation of administrative processes.Program Quality & ComplianceEnsure high-quality service delivery using evidence-based or industry-standard practices.Maintain compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, including CARF, Medi-Cal, CCL, HUD, etc.Oversee quality assurance activities and produce regular data and outcome reports.Business DevelopmentCultivate and expand current and new business opportunities through collaboration with internal and external partners.Support senior management in public/private contract development and oversight.Monitor and adjust program design based on strategic goals and organizational values.Community Outreach & EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with community service providers and stakeholders.Represent BP at community events, professional presentations, and public engagements.Assist Development Department in fundraising, grant proposals, reporting, and marketing efforts.Promote awareness of program services across the community and professional networks.QualificationsEducation & Experience Master’s or bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred.Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor through CADTP, CCAPP, or another state-recognized provider requiredMinimum 3 years' experience in a residential treatment setting, including:2 years of direct service experience.2 years in an administrative/supervisory roleExperience working with individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders preferredAOD Programs: Must maintain certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor through CADTP, CCAPP, or another state-recognized provider. Loss of certification may affect eligibility for continued employment in AOD-specific roles.Professional RequirementsFluent in English; bilingual/bicultural preferred.Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Valid California driver’s license, insurable driving record, and insured vehicle required.Physical RequirementsIntermittent activities: listening, talking, seeing, stretching, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting (up to 25 lbs), pushing, pulling, grasping.Extended activities: driving, writing, standing, typing, and sitting.Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $105,000.00We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, promotes equality, and fosters inclusion.
