Our teams, led by highly experienced Ph.D. 's and analytical chemists, hold accuracy, customer service, and rapid turnaround time as our primary commitments to the medical and recreational cannabis cultivators and processors we serve. Employees may be exposed to common allergens and must be comfortable working with/near cannabis related products.\nSCHEDULE: Current hiring for a mid-shift position working Monday-Friday. Facilities are open 365 days/year, 7 days per week including holidays. Assigned work schedule may include work during the evening, on holidays and weekends.\nSAMPLE INTAKE POSITION SUMMARY: This is a technical position. Daily work involves the routine and repetitive management of sample information to accommodate lab procedures and data analysis, in addition to supporting larger data projects.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\nPerforms all duties relevant to the acceptance/intake of samples to include maintenance of sample storage areas, sample inventory, processing and sample disposal per established protocols/procedures\nCoordinates and documents and any additional sample handling performed by other staff; ensures team members are following the appropriate procedures, and that paperwork is both legible and complete prior to entry into various database systems\nAids the Sample Transport Manager in ensuring that all documentation is complete and compliant with state regulations including, but not limited to, corresponding with lab management and the laboratory staff.\nProvides for the collection, storage, and review of Chain of Custody Forms and Customer Manifests for processing and compliance; reviews records against LIMS and seed-to-sale database entries; supports staff in the use of Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) as related to sample custody\nCreates and populates database records with sample intake and preparation data for entry into the company’s LIMS system, ensures records are consistent with state administered Cannabis tracking system and that all data entry is completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner\nPrepares and weighs product samples in accordance with laboratory procedures; documents required quality checks, such as balance verifications\nConducts regular samples inventory, sample disposal, and record keeping tasks in compliance with existing regulations and procedures; provides assistance in the resolution of data entry/systems issues\nParticipates in nonconformance investigations and resolution of corrective / preventive actions; alerts management to any potential discrepancies in sample submission, inventory, or disposal\nPerforms all tasks in a productive and efficient manner and within full compliance of all quality systems, standard operating procedures, health & safety regulations, and company policies\nEnsures confidentiality and security of sensitive data and report information\nAbility to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.\nResponsible for other job-related duties as assigned\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:\nGeneral Knowledge/Abilities\nAbility to recognize areas of improvement and implement effective solutions\nGeneral knowledge of modern office practices and use of the Microsoft Office Suite for Word and Excel, Google Sheets, LIMS and/or seed-to-sale programs\nHigh level communication and presentation skills; ability to build relationships and strengthen partnerships with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork\nAbility to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with fellow employees\nExperience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines; accountable for the completion of assigned goals and objectives\nAbility to fluently speak and read the English language along with understanding and following both written and verbal direction\nEducation, Licenses/Certifications\nCollege degree is not required; employee must however have completed all requirements toward a High School Diploma or GED\nPrior experience in the Cannabis industry; to include grower/processor, testing laboratory or dispensary work is highly preferred\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None\nJob Type: Full-time\nBenefits:\n401(k)\nDental insurance\nHealth insurance\nPaid time off\nVision insurance\nApplication Question(s):\nAre you at least 21 years of age?\nWill you now or in the future require sponsorship to work in the US?\nDo you have any prior experience working within the Cannabis Industry?\nAre you currently within a 45 minute commute of Columbia, MD?
