If you enjoy working across layers-from automation to low-level debugging-this role sits right at that boundary.\r\nWhat You'll Do\r\nBuild automation for Linux host lifecycle (config, patching, images)\r\nOwn system services, base images, and infrastructure components\r\nDebug production issues across OS, performance, and service layers\r\nWork across codebases (C, Go, Python, Ruby) to diagnose and fix issues\r\nLead projects from ambiguous problems to production\r\nImprove reliability through automation and system designPartner on security and FedRAMP requirements\r\nParticipate in a sustainable on-call rotation (~16 days/year)\r\nWhat Makes This Role Interesting\r\nOwn the Linux layer across the entire platform\r\nWork across the stack: kernel > containers > automation\r\nSolve real tradeoffs: reliability, security, and developer experience\r\nHigh ownership with direct impact on how engineers run services\r\nWhat We're Looking For\r\n7+ years working with Linux in production\r\nStrong automation skills (Python and/or Ruby, Ansible preferred)\r\nExperience debugging complex systems issues\r\nComfortable working across cloud + on-prem environments\r\nU.S. Person required (FedRAMP; U.S.-based work)\r\nNice to Have\r\nDocker / Kubernetes\r\nAMIs or container image building\r\nGo, C, or other systems-level languages\r\nExperience with compliance environments (FedRAMP, NIST, etc.)\r\nTeam Culture\r\nWe value engineers who take ownership, dive deep, and build systems that make the \"right thing\" easy.
