This position will also assist in the unloading of products and maintain logs of working hours.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nSafely drive truck and trailer on all public roads and at customer shipping/receiving locations\nMaintain electronic logs of working hours and daily vehicle inspections, following applicable state and federal regulations.\nEnsure cargo is properly secured before and during trips\nDocument pre-trip inspections\nEnsure all load-related documentation, proofs of delivery, etc. are complete and accurate\nSafely operate all electronic devices required to perform the job, such as an Electronic Logging Device, GPS Navigation System, barcode scanner, etc.\nInteract and communicate with customers, suppliers, law enforcement, co-workers, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner at all times.\nUpon delivery, the driver is responsible for removing straps and otherwise preparing products to be unloaded, unless customer performs such tasks\nHandle large windows and doors, safely assist in the loading and unloading of products at a customer location and/or return products.\nApply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds, especially in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas.\nMaintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including electronic driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law or company policy including a current Commercial Driver's License and a current Department of Transportation medical card.\nInspect equipment to ensure that it is in good working order. Complete a work order for any maintenance needs for the truck\nPrompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.\nCommunicate via email, prepare trip paperwork and work schedules.\nReview and analyze data and information concerning loads.\nPlan, prioritize and monitor delivery activities.\nComplete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\nNo direct management or supervisory responsibilities.\n\nSafety\nObserve safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. The individual must follow Safe Lift protocols and all safe driving laws.\n\nTravel\nExtensive overnight travel throughout the United States is required. Most drivers average between 1,800 and 2,500 miles per week.\n\nQualifications\nAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\n21 Years of Age at a Minimum\nValid Class A Commercial Driver's License\nNo more than 2 chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accidents within the past 5 years\nNo more than 3 violations of motor vehicle laws (excluding parking violations) within the past 2 years\nNo convictions of any offense involving the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or dugs within the past 5 years\nMust be able to use navigation tools\n\nPreferred Education and Experience\nThe expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.\nMinimum 2 years verifiable driving experience, or proof of driving skills based on a company-facilitated road test\n\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time position. Drivers may be asked to operate a tractor/trailer combination for up to 14 consecutive hours per day (11 hours driving, total of 14 hours on duty), in all types of weather, for up to 70 hours in an 8-day period. Days and hours of work include days, evenings, nights and weekends. Extensive travel throughout the United States is required and hours will vary. Drivers depart Sunday or Monday.
