We are committed to utilizing innovative, evidence-based pathways to assist individuals in achieving and sustaining a healthy quality of life.\n\nThe vision of New Paths, Inc. is to be an effective and dynamic force in the treatment of behavioral health while recognizing the individuality of the person served.\n\nOur Clinical Technicians are:\nResponsible for meeting with new clients, reviewing rules and expectations, daily schedules, medication protocols, taking vital signs according to protocols, and the overall introduction to the unit.\n\nSupport and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors and employees of New Paths.\n\nResponsible for providing a variety of structured and unstructured educational and supportive interventions to clients receiving services at New Paths.\n\nResponsible for implementation of the daily program schedule.\n\nRemain engaged with clients in the milieu throughout the shift to promote personal growth and environmental safety.\n\nAssist clients with timely self-administration of prescribed medications according to policy and procedure.\n\nDocument interventions and/or services thoroughly, accurately and timely according to policy and procedure.\n\nWork with clients to organize special activities including holiday plans, recreational activities, etc., to include timely budget preparation and submission to administration.\n\nCommunicate shift report both verbally and in writing to coworkers each and every shift.\n\nMaintain commitment to professional competency by maintaining professional growth and development (20 continuing education units, CEU’s, per year).\n\nParticipate in performance appraisal process by identifying professional learning needs and individual goals with supervisor.\n\nParticipate in staff meetings/team meetings/peer review as required.\n\nParticipate in performance improvement efforts and other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Clinical Services.\n\nREQUIRED ABILITIES AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n\nRequired:\n1. Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Human Services or equivalent, OR two (2) or more years’ experience with substance use disorder and/or mental health populations.\n\n2. If applicable, Registered Development Plan with MCBAP, CADC, CAADC (for substance use disorder).\n\n3. If applicable, maintain licensing and/or certification to meet contractual and State requirements.\n\n4. Demonstrate the ability to interact with challenging and complex clients in a compassionate, respectful and professional manner.\n\n5. Ability to apply and successfully acquire and maintain privileging and credentialing through New Paths.\n\n6. Ability to thoroughly and competently document therapeutic intervention to meet NPI, contract and accreditation requirements.\n\n7. Basic computer skills.\n\nPreferred:\n1. Experience with Michigan Department of Corrections\n\nPhysical and Mental Effort:\nLight physical effort with freedom of movement. Likelihood of multiple, interpersonal interactions with distressed persons, families, and their referral sources. Duties conducted within a professional office setting and access areas within the building with stairs. Regular computer keyboard use and some light lifting (10-15 lbs.) may be required.
