The Software engineer will provide support utilizing embedded systems (interdisciplinary electromechanical systems) and working with existing software (both COTS and GOTS) to address complex integration activities between sensor payload packages and platforms (airborne and maritime). The Rapid Prototype work center is dynamic in terms of the number of projects, most of which are complex and challenging. Kegman is a woman-owned, service-disabled Veteran owned small business headquartered in Melbourne, FL and provides engineering and technical support services to U.S. Government clients. This job requires the software engineer to have a fully adjudicated U.S. Government-issued security clearance and pass a polygraph, therefore, this position requires U.S. citizenship. This is not a telework job.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nAid in developing and implementing embedded systems, data discovery, signal processing, data aggregation and exploitation, sensor/system modeling and analysis.\nProvide support for in-house technology initiatives and for monitoring the adequacy and feasibility of proposals and on-going projects by other parties in Government, academia and industry.\nParticipate in and/or support field tests and operational demonstration activities (within U.S. or overseas).\nProcess, exploit, analyze and report results from tests, demonstrations and evaluations to aid in determining sensor/system overall effectiveness.\nProvide organizational level tracking of activities and status reporting to synchronize and enhance the mission.\nEDUCATION:\nAssociate’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development or other relevant field of study.\nREQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:\nMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience performing tasks similar to those above\nComputer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design)\nProficiency with C, C++, C#, Python, Linux/Unix, Java\nGUI development\nDocker and/or Kubernetes\nFamiliarity with JavaScript functions (Node.JS and React.JS)\nGeneral knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS)\nStrong problem solving and researching skills\nClear, concise, and timely communication (written or spoken) are necessary to coordinate and communicate with a multi-discipline team (engineers, technicians, fabricators, managers).\nDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nMicro-controller programming (e.g., Arduino)\nWorking knowledge of Git / Git Hub / Git Lab\nFirmware/hardware interactions\nFamiliarity with aeronautics, SUAS (small unmanned aircraft system), and mobile littoral systems\nFamiliarity with SQL\nCompTIA Security+ certification\nUse of Raspberry Pi\nOTHER:\nMust pass drug test.\nUS Citizenship required.\nMust have and maintain a U.S. Government issued security clearance.\nMust pass a U.S. Government administered counterintelligence polygraph.\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year\nBenefits:\nDental insurance\nHealth insurance\nPaid time off\nApplication Question(s):\nAre you a U.S. citizen?
