Facility Maintenance Manager

Facility Maintenance Manager Location: Gallatin, TN, 37066 Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the repair, upkeep, and development of buildings, offices, landscapes, and machines. This person also ensures that these assets are functioning properly and that the company is using resources efficiently. Supervisory Responsibilities: Interview, train, and develop maintenance and janitorial staff, including providing feedback and performance reviews. Influence across cross-functional departments and leaders. Lead, coach, and mentor the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment and facilities. Create preventive and predictive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and increase equipment reliability. Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians and/or contractors to execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Administer and manage preventive maintenance software. Reliability Engineering: Identify and analyze equipment failures, root causes, and implement strategies to prevent recurring issues. Capital Investment: Collaborate with other departments and senior leadership on short- and long-term investment strategies. Assist with Capital Investment budget strategy and management. Collaborate with PM on any assigned tasks or projects pertaining to capital investment. Budget Management: Monitor and control expenses related to maintenance and reliability initiatives. Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment and assets, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping. Implement asset management best practices to extend the lifespan of equipment. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety and regulatory standards. Develop and maintain maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure compliance. Environmental Management: Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Monitor and report on environmental performance, working to minimize the company's environmental footprint. Vendor and Contractor Management: Collaborate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing and repairs. Negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and manage service agreements. Obtain bids and select appropriate vendors for contracted services such as janitorial maintenance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel. Experience with data analysis tools is a plus. Education and Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and reliability management within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience leading and managing a team, preferably in maintenance. Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling software. Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and methodologies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Budget management experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. Certification in maintenance or reliability (e.g., CFM, FMP, CMRP) is a plus. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
