Job Title: RN Psych Emergency RoomLocation: Kansas City, KSDuration: 13 weeks Shift - 12hr Nights; 7:00 PM-7:00 AM 3x a weekScheduled details: 12hr Nights; 7:00 PM-7:00 AM 3x a weekPay Rate - $55.67/Hr (Blended)Experience Requirements:Must have 2years of exp in Psych (Hospital preferred)Must have experience with assessments to determine disposition for psych patients as well as experience working with violent patientsPLS nurses have three primary responsibilities: 1) Direct Patient Care: Provide primary nursing care to two high-risk psychiatric patients in the ED, including medication administration, restraint use, de-escalation, and coordinating inpatient or state hospital placement.2) Psychiatric Evaluation: Assess all psych patients entering the ER, determine appropriate disposition (e.g., inpatient, discharge, involuntary hold), and coordinate necessary steps like placement, safety planning, and transport.3) Crisis Response: Respond to Behavioral Response Team (BRT) calls across the hospital to manage escalated patients through de-escalation, setting limits, restraint, and supporting bedside staff alongside police and nurse managers.License/ Certification Requirements:KS or Compact RNBLSFloating Requirements: NoneWeekend Requirements: Not required may be asked to work 1-2 a monthOn-Call Requirements: NoneHoliday Requirements: Required based on unit needsNew Graduate?: No
