You will provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from solution design and code reviews through testing and production release.\n\nThis is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with team leadership while supporting applications critical to federal government operations.\n\nLead a small engineering team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and releasing new capabilities and enhancements to production Java and React applications.\nOwn technical design decisions, establish code review standards, and ensure release readiness for assigned development work.\nCollaborate with Government product owners to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and manage the team's development backlog.\nDeliver reliable software updates to mission-critical production systems using automated testing, feature flags, and rehearsed rollback procedures.\nMentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, promoting software engineering best practices and high-quality code.\nCollaborate with sustainment, security, and platform engineering teams to ensure application reliability, security, and successful deployment.\nRequirements:\n7+ years of enterprise Java software development experience, including Spring Boot.\nStrong SQL development experience, particularly with PostgreSQL.\nExperience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.\nDemonstrated experience leading a small software engineering team through technical design, code reviews, testing, and production releases.\nExperience working in an Agile software development environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience developing applications using React.\nExperience integrating with Pega or other workflow platforms.\nFamiliarity with Amazon ECS/Fargate and AWS GovCloud.\nExperience delivering software solutions in federal government or other regulated environments requiring formal change control.\nActive Secret security clearance.\n\nWork Location and Schedule\n\nLocation: Hybrid. Reston, VA headquarters and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required. Government-furnished equipment is used for all access to Government environments.\n\nSchedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern.
