The Multicultural Student Programs Coordinator is a part time position (25 hours/week for 12 months – summer hours can be flexible) and reports to the Director of Graduate Student Life. This position pays $24-$26/hr.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nAssist with the planning and implementation of international graduate student orientation and graduate student orientation sessions in August.\nProvide support for graduate students of color and plan programs in cooperation with the Grad School academic programs, the Chaplin’s Office and Graduate Student Council.\nPlan programming that will unite domestic and international students representing Asian, Hispanic, and African diasporas.\nSupervise the Students of Color Office Assistant.\nHelp to plan the itinerary and travel details of the Civil Rights Trip and market the trip and recruit students.\nOversee the Technical Reader Program for Ph.D. students; manage Technical Reading Submissions from students and coordinator forms and communication between students, technical readers and Buswell library.\nManage Dine with a Mind program.\nServe as maintenance DSO (Designated Student Official) and assist with general immigration processes. A DSO must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.\nHelp to provide welcome and hospitality at the Graduate School and maintain the Second Floor Lounge.\nThis job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time, and other duties may be assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree preferred\nExperience in multicultural student programming\nExperience in Higher Education preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 10 pounds.\nFLSA Status – Non Exempt\nAs a Christ-centered community, Wheaton College faculty and staff must affirm the College’s Statement of Faith as expressing their own theological convictions and agree to live by the moral standards in Wheaton’s Community Covenant, modeling these commitments for the Christian formation of our students.
