Controller
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for a multi-plant U.S. manufacturing organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting while fostering a collaborative, hands-on culture across multiple plant locations.The Corporate Controller will oversee month-end close, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for all U.S. plants, while partnering closely with plant leadership, operations, and corporate finance. This is a visible role within a financially stable, privately held company that values long-term relationships, process improvement, and teamwork.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & CloseLead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple U.S. manufacturing plantsEnsure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAPReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysesMaintain strong internal controls and documented accounting processesAccounts Payable & Accounts ReceivableOversee AP and AR teams supporting U.S. plant operationsEnsure efficient processing of vendor payments, customer billings, cash applications, and collectionsMonitor aging reports, working capital metrics, and resolve discrepancies collaboratively with plantsManufacturing & Plant SupportPartner with plant controllers, operations leaders, and plant managers to support financial accuracy and decision-makingUnderstand manufacturing cost structures, inventory accounting, and standard costing principlesSupport inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and physical inventoriesLeadership & CollaborationBuild, mentor, and develop accounting talent in a collaborative, people-first cultureServe as a trusted business partner across finance, operations, and leadership teamsPromote consistency while respecting the unique needs of each plantProcess Improvement & SystemsDrive continuous improvement in accounting processes, close timelines, and reporting qualitySupport ERP optimization and accounting system enhancementsAssist with audits, tax support, banking relationships, and special projects as neededQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturingExperience overseeing accounting for multiple plants or locationsStrong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close managementAP and AR leadership experienceProven ability to lead teams and collaborate across functionsPreferredCPA or similar professional certificationExperience in privately held, growth-oriented manufacturing companiesERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)Compensation range: $165k plus bonus Desired Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturingExperience overseeing accounting for multiple plants or locationsStrong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close managementAP and AR leadership experienceProven ability to lead teams and collaborate across functionsPreferred qualifications:CPA or similar professional certificationExperience in privately held, growth-oriented manufacturing companiesERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
