Successful candidates will be members of our Engineering team supporting production on automation design, installation, and launch, as well as new machine controls, drives, and schematics related to the equipment.\nMain Duties & Responsibilities\n\nUpdate, modify, and improve existing controls systems including robotic programs, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, pneumatic, distribution and control.\nDesign and develop new machine controls including robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and vision systems.\nDevelop and support maintenance programs on equipment.\nCoordinate with engineering and maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and vision systems.\nCreate, maintain current hard copies and electronic data bases: all electrical, pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs machine power distribution and all related vendor controls component parts documentation.\nSchedule and complete back-ups of all electronic machine controls and robotic programs on set schedule\nImplement and maintain data collection system from shop floor processing equipment.\nMaintain and expand existing plant floor machine control to Ethernet gateways, links, and connections.\nMaintain all sub machine control data highways.\nMaintain and update controls portion of machine standards.\nCoordinate with and assist with company systems personnel with plant floor Ethernet machine drop routing and Ethernet message traffic control.\nComplete correspondence, forms and reports using computer and applicable software.\nHandle confidential information on a regular basis.\nActive member of a cross-functional launch team\nEncourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.\nPromote and facilitate Open Door process, effective and respectful communication.\nParticipate in Continual Improvement activities.\nAdhere to customer requirements, Quality System, and company policies.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEnvironment\nWork in the office 40% and manufacturing floor 60%.\nAbility to lift up to 20 lbs.\n50% computer and 50% equipment.\nQualifications\n\nUniversity degree in a technical field and 3 years direct work experience or a minimum of 8 year’s direct manufacturing experience.\nProficiency using lean manufacturing tools.\nProgrammable Logic Controllers (3 years)\nDesire to promote the success of the organization and team members by following through on tasked activities working on time and to budget.\nAbility to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations.\nAlways exhibit a high level of flexibility and ability to multi-task.\nPositive personality to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and suppliers.\nCompetent in reading and interpreting schematics and mechanical drawings\nAble to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact.\nCompensation\nCompensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location.
